Designing a mobile app to help young football talent get discovered
Role: Lead Product Designer
Year: 2024

Problem & Goal
Young footballers with real talent often lack access to professional pathways, visibility, and feedback beyond their local environment. Traditional scouting systems favour established academies, leaving many players undiscovered despite their potential.
W3 Sport set out to bridge this gap by creating a mobile platform where young players could develop skills, track progress, and showcase their ability to a wider football community, including coaches and scouts.

Approach
W3 Sport approached us with a clear mission and the ambition to launch a fully functional MVP across iOS and Android. My role was to lead end-to-end UX and UI design, shaping the product from concept through to a live, downloadable app.
Given the young target audience, the strategy focused on simplicity, motivation, and fast feedback. I prioritised intuitive navigation, low-friction onboarding, and clear progression systems to keep users engaged without overwhelming them.
The product was designed iteratively, with ongoing testing and feedback from teenage users informing refinements to interaction patterns, visual hierarchy, and overall usability ahead of a broader marketing rollout.
